GREEN/BLUE

CORROSION STAINS

Blue-green stains on your faucets and tubs are usually caused by tap water that’s slightly acidic (low-pH) or corrosive. You may also see blue laundry spots and drinking water may be bitter.

When low-pH water flows through copper pipes, it can cause copper (and lead) to leach into your water. Eventually such copper pipe corrodes and springs pinhole leaks.

These elevated levels of copper can mix with other minerals consistent with hard water to create multi-colored scale buildup. Instead of typical white scale, blue or green residue forms on your faucet.

Proper water analysis will reveal your water chemistry and allow us to determine the best filtering and softening systems for your home or business in New Hampshire or Maine.  Contact us to assess your needs and soon install lasting solutions.
