Relief for New Hampshire Water Well Owners Hit by Extreme Drought


In 2020, many New Hampshire residents experienced severe drought conditions which have continued into 2023. Dug wells and point wells have been especially impacted by the recent drought alongside a higher than usual number of drilled wells. Thankfully, the state of New Hampshire recently introduced an income-based relief program for remedying and even replacing failed residential wells. Tier 1 Income Criteria
The total household annual income is no greater than $37,028.50, the equivalent of 50% of the statewide average of median household incomes(1). If qualified at this level, up to the full cost of the project may be eligible for reimbursement, less a $250 deductible.

 

Tier 2 Income Criteria
The total household annual income is greater than $37,028.50 but less than or equal to the applicable area median household income shown on the chart below. If qualified at this level, up to 50% of the cost of the project may be eligible for reimbursement.
